Matthew Ibrahim

Matthew Ibrahim graduated as a master’s honoree from SFSU’s comparative literature department; there, he focused on the relation between language and finitude in French and German lyric poetry. He transferred to philosophy in the hopes of linking his work in classical german philosophy (especially Nietzsche) with modern analytic explorations of language and normativity. His current work seeks to link problems of social normativity to the challenges of human autonomy and emancipation. On his own time, he’s an avid enthusiast of classic film, jazz, weight lifting, and Latin study.
