After receiving my M.A. in Philosophy at San Francisco State University, I moved on to pursue a doctorate degree in Comparative Philosophy and Religion at the Graduate Theological Union in Berkeley. As a Ph.D. candidate, my dissertation is a comparison between Plato and his work on Beauty and Eros entitled "Symposium" and the Hindu Rasa theories of Rupa Gosvami found in his work "Bhaktirasamrtasindhu". My interest explores the cognitive capacities of feelings and different methods for their development which may reveal levels of knowledge. In addition, I propose that it is this development of our feelings that can show us our metaphysical place in the living Earth and our purpose in nourishing our planet.
