We are seeking Instructional Student Assistants (aka TAs) in Philosophy!

Instructional Student Assistant: ISAs assist our professors with class management i.e., facilitating group discussions, making presentations on special topics, holding focused group tutorials, managing assignments and grading, and individual tutoring.

Working as an ISA is a great way to:

  • Work closely with a professor who specializes in a particular branch of philosophy in which you might be interested. Feel free to email any of our professors and ask if they are seeking an ISA.
  • Make some extra money! ISAs are paid $19.00 per hour.
  • If your future goal is to teach, it’s an opportunity to gain valuable teaching insights and experience!

A new application is required each semester. Graduate students must be enrolled in 4 units (in graduate level courses), and undergraduates in 6 units to qualify for employment. ISAs may work up to 20 hours per week of combined SF State employment.
