I began studying philosophy at Dartmouth College, where I received a B.A. in Philosophy and Cognitive Science. I then studied art at San Francisco State University, eventually moving to Italy where I received a B.F.A. and an M.F.A. in Art, graduating with honors from the Accademia di Belli Arti di Firenze. I have been teaching art and art history at colleges in the Sacramento area for several years. I am very happy to have the opportunity to study philosophy again in the San Francisco State M.A. program. My areas of interest include philosophy of mind, ethics and aesthetics. This semester, I am excited to be teaching Intro to Philosophy of Art, which combines two of my favorite things.
